An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data
Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data

The SpeakRecipe App and AI Processing
SpeakRecipe is a web-based application that helps you capture recipes by speaking while you cook. When you tap Complete, the text of your spoken narration is sent securely to an AI assistant (Claude, made by Anthropic) for the sole purpose of formatting and organizing your recipe into a structured format with a title, ingredients, and steps.
We want to be clear about what is and is not sent to the AI:
What IS sent: Only the text of your spoken recipe narration — the words you dictated about your recipe.
What is NOT sent: Your name, email address, phone number, payment information, location, device information, or any other personal information. None of that is collected by the app or sent to the AI.
The AI does not know who you are. It only receives your cooking narration and returns a formatted recipe. Anthropic, the company that makes Claude, may use API inputs under their standard terms. You can review Anthropic’s privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
Recipes you save are stored locally in your browser on your own device. We do not store your recipes on our servers and cannot access your saved cookbook.
Memberships and Payments
SpeakRecipe offers paid memberships that provide access to the app. All payments are processed securely through SureCart and Stripe. We do not store, see, or have access to your credit card number or sensitive payment details at any time. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or payment information with any third party for marketing purposes. We keep all site plugins, themes, and security utilities up to date to protect your information.
